The Everest Base Camp Cho La Pass Trek is one of the most beautiful treks in the Everest Region.  Crossing the Cho La Pass to reach the Everest Base Camp is a daring trip. The Cho La High Pass is thrilling and technical and it is considered by trekkers to be an exhilarating trekking package. The Himalayan peaks glimmer in the background and near the horizon, including,Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu,  and the surrounding peaks. Gokyo Lake, Valley and Gkyo Ri are the beginning sights of this trek.

Gokyo Cho La Pass trekking route includes a trip to the bottom of Mt. Everest – Everest Base Camp. For trekkers who want some extra adventure and love to do technical trekking, this route is perfect for you. The journey passes through Lukla, Phakding, Namche bazaar, Dole, Machhermo, Gokyo, Thaknak and then crosses the Cho La Pass to join the usual route of the Everest Base Camp Trek. Crossing the villages, you will enjoy and observe the traditional Sherpa culture, customs and rituals, visit the Gompas and enjoy the general hospitality. Gokyo Valley, also known as the Death Valley, is beautifully located by the Gokyo Lake. The attractions on the hiking day to Gokyo Ri include: the Everest Himalayan Panoroma, Everest’s five lakes and Ngozumba Glacier. After the trail reaches to Gorakshep, Everest Base Camp and Kalapatthar, you begin the trek down to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu.

  • Day 01:Arrival Kathmandu.
  • Day 02:Sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, including UNESCO sites.
  • Day 03:Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2651m). – 3-4 Hours trek
  • Day 04:Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3438m). – 5-6 Hours
  • Day 05:Namche Bazaar rest/acclimatization day.
  • Day 06:Namche Bazaar to Dole.
  • Day 07:Dole to Machhermo.

  • Day 14:Hike up to Kala Patthar (5545m) and back Pheriche (4288m). – 7-8 Hours
  • Day 15:Pheriche to Namche Bazaar. – 6-7 Hours
  • Day 16:Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2860m). – 6-7 Hours
  • Day 17:Fly Back to Kathmandu.
